Catechesis
For the entire history of the Christian Church, catechesis (oral instruction or oral teaching) has been a part of how the local and larger community of believers have grown in their love of Jesus and their knowledge of the faith. This type of instruction or teaching has been as simple as short true statements about God one can memorize and internalize to more robust questions and answers developed to aid the maturing Christian in their knowledge of the Lord.
